Welcome to my Humble Shop! I look forward to helping you!
While many different variations of tsukamaki services exist, I am currently only focusing on one style to start with. Hineri-maki, the most commonly seen style found on most production katana, iaito and wakizashi. As my skill improves, I plan to offer other maki styles in the future.
This style is the most commonly seen where the strands of ito are folded over as they cross together.
All premium tsukamaki RE:Wraps are done using traditional materials (kusune, rice paper hishigami) for a look and feel that will last for years to come. Currently, I only offer services using standard cotton as well as genuine Japanese silk. As I continue to grow, I will offer leather and suede. Please refer to my FAQ section for more details.
The most commonly used Tsuka-ito wrap, known for its durability, and moisture resistance. Stock color choices are White, Black, Red, Purple, Green, and Blue. If another color is wanted please let me know ahead of time so I can order the materials.

Every collector has that one sword, it may have been your first or it could just hold special meaning. The point is, we all start somewhere and if you are anything like me, you still have that first budget blade. (My first was a 1060 steel katana, I think I spent around $95 for it) They need love too and I understand not wanting to sink more into maintenance than what was paid so I am offering this as an option. Hineri-maki done with Synthetic Silk, no hishigami, a bit of glue, quick and tight
The wrap will be tight, the folds and end knots will be solid.

Lacquering the Ito provides two main benefits. One, it helps reinforce and strengthen the wrap to make it last even longer. Two, it not only deepens the color of the ito but also serves as another layer of protection against moisture. More information can be found in my FAQ page.
Please note that due to curing and drying times, having your ito lacquered will add 1-2 days to order completion.
Using genuine, high quality rayskin, I can replace the current panels with brand new, measured to fit samegawa.
Unfortunately, more often than not; tsuka cores can suffer minor wear and tear, as well as damage from heavy use. Each tsuka I receive will be thoroughly inspected, and if needed I will contact you with a detailed repair plan. I will do no modifications or repairs without your express written consent. Repair pricing on a case by case basis.
